In the 1960s the Briitsh airline became the fifth biggest passenger-carrying airline in the Western World. The plane shown, built in 1943, was former RAF plane, and was converted by scottish aviation and named RMA John Stringfellow after an early British aviator. It served BEA from 1946 to 1960.
