HS2 were again felling beech trees today in the ancient woodland of Jones Hill Wood despite it being the bird nesting season and that rare Barbastelle bats are known to roost in the woods. The woods are said to have inspired local author Roald Dahl to write the popular children's novel, The Fantastic Mr Fox.
