Australians Take Over British Carrier at Devenport - Cheerful Australian naval ratings with an H.M.A.S Vengeance lifebelt on board the aircraft-carrier to-day. H.M.S. vengeance, the fight fleet carrier which is being lent to the Royal Australian Navy, was turned over to an Australian naval steaming party at Devonport today (Thursday). The party, consisting of 550 officers and men, arrived at Plymouth recently from Australia. They will take the carrier to Australia early in the coming year. November 13, 1952.
