This was a demonstration organised by the London Committee of 100 against the war in Vietnam. Though it was intended to hold the meeting in the House of Commons, only three people managed to get in before being escorted away. Rolt, together with Charles Henry Jenkins, 23, and Christopher James Geraghty, 20, were charged with the murder. Jenkins and Geraghty were both hanged at Pentonville Prison on 19th September 1947.
