RM2E389X5–1950s, historical, at Larne, at the start of the causeway coastal route (A2), the road goes underneath the Blackcave tunnel or 'Black Arch', a narrow opening or tunnel cut out from the overhanging cliff, Larne, Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was the idea of civil engineer, William Bald who saw the scope for building a road along the edge of the cliff, which took place between 1832 and 1842 and was a great achievement for its day. The road remained largely unchanged until the late 1960s.
