'Il Leone di Caprera'. Sailing schooner of 9 meters of length that crewed by three Italians wanted to cross the Atlantic Ocean with a sextant as the only guide. They set sail on October 3rd 1880 from Montevideo (Uruguay). On January 9, 1881 they arrived in Las Palmas (Canary Islands, Spain). The leader of the expedition was Vicenzo Fondacaro (1844-1893), an Italian captain. Three ton ship, which just crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Montevideo to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
