RMHF5N4W–A man peels the chemical backing away from an 'instant' photographic print that was created with an early model of the Polaroid Land camera. Introduced in 1947 by its inventor, Dr. Edwin Land, the novel Polaroid camera produced a black-and-white snapshot picture only a few seconds after the exposure was made. The peel-apart Polaroid film was pulled from the camera by the photographer, who then had to separate the print from its chemical-covered negative. Later Polaroid films turned into finished color photographs that were automatically ejected by the camera after a picture was taken.
