Fresh blossom of Pink Lady's Slipper. Cypripedium acaule. growing in old established Pine Forest. Light brownish background is actually accumulated Pine Needles in this older Pine Forest. A member of the Orchid family. Inflated petal. fissured in front. Red veins course over the blossom. Flowering was in late May and early June. Area of Riley Trails. Near Holland, Michigan. Nikon D810 camera with 200mm Macro lens. f/8 at 1/10s on FOBA ballhead on Gitzo Tripod. ISO of 100 used.
