RMG800RB–UNDATED PICTURE Sergeant Ian John McKay, who it was announced today, has been awarded the Victoria Cross in the Falklands Honours List Sgt McKay of Rotherham, Yorks, died as a platoon Sergeant of 3 Para in the Battle for Mount Longdon.

RMG5F948–Lieutenant Colonel Herbert Jones (R) and Sergeant Ian John Mckay who was announced to have been awarded the Victoria Crosses in the Falklands Gallantry Awards announced. Lt Col 'H' Jones of church Crookham, Hants, was killed whilst Commanding 2 Para in the battle for Goose Green. Sgt McKay of Rotherham, Yorks, died as a platoon sergeant of 3 Para in the battle for Mount Longdon.
