A tree for every man, woman and child in Greater Manchester, as City of Trees takes root. Volunteers from the University of Manchester plant trees at Wythenshawe Sports Ground. Led by Red Rose Forest, the community forest organisation for Greater Manchester and The Oglesby Charitable Trust, City of Trees is a movement made up of business, community groups and organisations, all united to make the City of Trees’ ambition a reality. As part of the project, 100 broadleaf deciduous trees including maple, birch, hazel and oak will be planted on land owned by The University of Manchester. Funded by Oglesby Charitable Trust and delivered by Red Rose Forest for City of Trees.
