More information:

Vintage cyclists riding the gravel road to the Ulverston lighthouse during the L'Ancienne vintage cycling event based on Cumbria. This is an annual event based at Ulverston and organised by Sportive Lakes. These riders are covering the 80km event and the optional 2km gravel road section to the lighthouse that will earn them a gold medal for completing all sections. Bikes must be pre 1987 to qualify and riders are encouraged to dress of the period to match their cycle. The lighthouse is in fact a monument provided by public subscription to remember Sir John Barrow, a founding member of the Royal Geographic Society. The lighthouse was built in 1850.
