Operational Cooling towers of the Three Mile Island nuclear generation station after a March 28, 1979 accident steaming away as seen from across the Susquaehanna river near Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Cause of the accident was technical malfunctions and human error. Radiation was released, a part of the unit 2 nuclear core was damaged and thousands of residents evacuated the area.
