This is Your Life presenter Michael Aspel (left) presents Hot Chocolate singer Errol Brown with the Big Red Book at London's HMV Store in Oxford Street. 21/10/03: It has been announced the TV show This Is Your Life has been axed after almost 50 years.The first episode of the show was broadcast in 1955 and was presented by Eamonn Andrews, but the classic programme is now hosted by Michael Aspel.In its heyday the show regularly pulled in 20 million viewers. But the last edition of the programme in August this year, featuring former choirboy Aled Jones, was watched by just 3.5 million.
