The Time-Life building on Sixth Avenue in New York on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Time Inc. was spun off from the parent company Time Warner. The periodical publisher whose titles include People, Sports Illustrated and Time will now be operating independently of Time Warner. The publisher will no longer have the luxury of HBO and Warner Bros. to prop up its decline in advertising revenue and circulation.
