River Wharfe between Ilkey and Bolton Abbey Wharfedale Yorkshire Dales UKMore information:
The Dales Way is a long distance footpath of about 80 miles from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere. As far as possible the Dales Way follows riverside tracks and offers a scenically attractive route through the Yorkshire Dales. As indicated by its name the route is predominantly at a low level and follows the valleys of the Rivers Wharfe, Dee, Lune and Kent. However it should not be underestimated as it does cross high isolated moors in its central section. This section follows the starting point at Ilkey along the River Wharfe to Bolton Abbey.
