The stadium is the large rectangular open area in the foreground of the picture. It had a seating capacity of 2, 500. In the front are a number of columns which probably formed part of columned portico on this north side. In the background is the acropolis surmounted by the fortress of the Ottoman Kanlı Ağı ('Bloody Chief Ali') built upon the foundations of an older Lycian fortress.
