The Handwerkerhof (Tradesmen's court) is surrounded by a medieval defensive wall in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. The Handwerkerhof has a selection of small craft and gift shops including some restaurants. The venue is a very popular attraction with visitors. Although there are timbered framed buildings, the courtyard was built as recently as 1971. The Nuremberg Christmas Market dates back to the 16th century. It is one of Germany's oldest Christmas fairs and attracts visitors from around the world.
