The factory of brewer Scottish Courage, which plans to move production of its Newcastle ale brands to the Northern Clubs Federation Brewery (NCFB) across the Tyne in Dunston, it will acquire for 7.2 million. The move to the NCFB site will involve the loss of around 100 jobs. The announcement means that the world famous Newcastle Brown Ale will no longer be brewed in the city, since the production in 1927, known also for its advertising slogan 'The One and Only'.
