It offers bargains galore for people working in the area and the local Asian community. Come to grab a bargain everyday from Monday to Saturday from over 80 stalls selling everything from fresh fruit to fish, clothing, bedding, carpets, jewellery and electrical goods, all at unbelievable prices. The nearby East London Mosque ensures a steady stream of visitors and many stalls now sell Indian spices and exotic vegetables as well as great quality silks and saree fabric. Open six days a week from Monday to Saturday from 8.00 until 18.00.The road gets its name because it led to the white chapel of St Mary Matfelon, which was constructed in white stone in 1250. This was also the area where Jack the Ripper committed his murders, in 1888, killing at least six prostitutes over four months. Despite its interesting history, the market is quite mundane and cheap. If you want everyday practical items, this is probably the best place to go. A stall selling eastern fashions and another selling hair accessories are quite interesting. What to find there: Sari fabrics, eastern silk fashions, western fashions, fish, bedding, carpets, electrical goods, hair accessories and jewellery. This long-established market opposite the Royal London hospital has over 80 stalls and is particularly good for picking up huge bargain bags of onions and every kind of Indian spice and herb find fresh fruit, Eastern and Western clothing, sari fabric, cheap toothpaste, plastic bins, bedding, carpets, hair accessories, jewellery, electrical goods, and
