The Ayuttaya era Wat Khai Bang Kung near Amphawa in Samut Songkhram, the temple where General, later King, Taksin started his successful battle against the Burmese, eventually making the Kingdom of Siam independent again. The temple is covered by the roots of several banyan trees and the Buddha image inside covered with gold leaves donated by visitors.
