More information:

Taunton Livestock market moved from this site in the Taunton city centre to a purpose built modern site at North Petherton about 5 miles away with easy motorway access at Junction 24 on the M5. This photo shows the process of partial dismantling after the last market was held on this site (January 2008) with the metal animal pens removed. All these market buildings where then removed as part of a redevelopment plan to rebuild the site with business, retail and residential use (part of Project Taunton). Taunton had been a market town for about 1000 years and the market was held on this particular site since 1929.
