GP 14-foot dinghy raced, cruised, rowed in Merseyside, UK. 1Dusk looms for competitors in the Southport 24 Hour Race. A national sailing endurance race for two-handed sailing dinghies, with up to 70 Firefly, Lark, Enterprise and GP 14 boat crews competing. The exhausting race, which is hosted by the West Lancs Yacht Club starts at 12 noon on the Saturday with the contestants racing their dinghies non-stop, around the resorts marine lake finishing at noon 24 hours later. Sailing skills and endurance are put to a severe test during the 12 hours of darkness.
