no colonial species constituted therefore a simple polyp inhabiting a deep cup of circular or elliptical and sometimes a little deformed. It presents dimensions which may reach up to 7cm in diameter for circular shapes, and 6 x 4 cm elliptical shapes. Columela well devolved. Five complete cycles of septa and a sixth half cycle. The first three cycles reach the columella and the following three are curved and are welded to the first. Life forms have a strong green color, gray, or dark violet Species endemic to Brazil, having affinities with the coral fauna of the Caribbean reefs. It is a common species in the shaded parts of the reefs of the State of Pernambuco coast and the Abrolhos area, in calm, clear, always accompanied by the kind fragilis Agaricia and fixedly Meandrina braziliensis. It is also recorded at depths between 50 and 80 m, in the state of Pernambuco coast and Victoria Bank on the coast of the Holy Spirit.
