MALTA 1986: HMS Brazan is escorted by a flotilla of small boats into Malta's Grand Harbour at Valletta when it was greeted with an emotional welcome from the islanders, seven years after the Royal Navy was forced to leave its shores. Malta had been a British naval base since the Napoleonic Wars.
