These boulders at near Shag Point are some 12 km south of their more famous cousins at Moeraki. they are more individual than those at Moeraki but share a similar composition of mud and silt cemented with calcite. Unlike ythose at Moeraki these are on a rocky shore. They are hard to find, have no attendant tourist attractions and hence are far less visited.
