The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in the District del Sol area on the West Side just across the Mississippi River from downtown St Paul. Featuring entertainment stages, parade, Lowrider Car Show, authentic Mexican food with over 100, 000 in attendance at the largest Hispanic/Latino event in Minnesota. The St Paul Minnesota Winter Carnival is the oldest and largest winter festival in the USA. Events include parades, cultural celebrations, ice and snow sculptures and a giant snow slide. St Paul Minnesota Winter Carnival Vulcan (god of fire) and krewe, attired in red jump suits and goggles sends King Boreas, king of the winds and his guard back to Mt Olympus ending his 10 day reign over his earthly winter playground.
