All along the Lincolnshire coast during the winter these huge flocks of Brent Geese drop down onto the growing wheat fields and devour the young shoots. The farmers try to scare them off with rockets and shooting guns in the air but they still come back, sometimes within 30 minutes. These Geese are sea geese that traditionally used to feed solely on the salt marshes but today they seem to like farm land too.
