pr0282-D. Gray Whale (Eschrichtius robustus). This juvenile is entangled in a lobster trap line. The rope is caught in mouth and baleen, and is tearing into the skin at the back of the mouth next to the eye. This whale was extremely agitated, swimming erratically and breaching repeatedly, no doubt in pain and confused by its entanglement. San Ignacio Lagoon, Baja, Mexico. Photo Copyright © Brandon Cole.
