Ian Gordon, a 16 year old schoolboy who disappeared in January 2000. His father said that his son wrote an essay in which he fantasized about running away from home. He went missing the day before he was due to return to school after the Christmas holidays. * Ian, a pupil at George Watson's College in Edinburgh, a fee-paying school, went missing with just a change of clothes and some documents. His family, who live in Swanston, an up-market suburb of the Scottish capital, has not heard since then from Ian, who is described as an honest, hard-working, middle-class boy. He left no note explaining his decision to leave.
