Cantolla balloons are hot air paper balloons named in honor of Joaquin de la Cantolla, the first Mexican who flew in a hot air balloon during the XIX century. During the day of the dead the inhabitants of San Agustin Ohtenco, a town south of Mexico city, organize a hot air paper balloon exhibition and contest. There are different categories, the most simple balloons are made with just a few paper sheets. The biggests can be as big as a normal hot air balloon and are made with thousands of paper sheets.
