Located in the Sevenoaks district of Kent, the pretty village of Penshurst grew up around Penshurst Place, a medieval manor house dating back to the 14th century. Leicester Square, with its picture postcard cottages, was named after the Earl of Leicester, a descendant of the Sydney family of Penshurst Place. Lying in the Weald of Kent, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the village is famous for its vineyards.
