Mount Paektu is regarded as a sacred place to Korean and Chinese, but has different meanings for each people. North Korea claims that Kim Il-sung organized his resistance against the Japanese forces in the area and that Kim Jong-il was born in the forest. Thousands of students and pioneers came in this place like pilgrims to listen to the great story. Those ones came from Pyongyang.
