More information:

Mid May in Cornwall with coastal spring flowers in full bloom. Location is on the cliffs overlooking Bedruthan steps, which is between Newquay and Padstow on the North Cornwall coast on the South West coastal path. Abundance of pink thrift, and yellow kidney vetch make a very pretty and colourful display for early season holidaymakers and walkers. During High tide the Atlantic ocean covers the entire beach, while at low tide a beautiful stretch of golden sand is revealed. Bedruthan steps beach is reached by a vey steep and long "staircase" placed vertically down the cliffs, although quite scary to those without a head for height, children and dogs can manage them.. The surrounding cliffs are owned by the National Trust. The cliffs and National Trust land is called Carnewas, there is a car park, and in the high season a National Trust shop and cafe are open next to the car park. The car park in May 2008 costs £ 2.00 for non-members, free for members. Padstow is about half an hour away, and has numerous Rick Stein restaurants, Jamie Olivers 10 is about 15 minutes away at Watergate bay, near Newquay. Eroded cliffs show weathering.
