The South Pier, dating to 1893, and using Worthington Screwpile water jets to drive the piles in, is the newest of Blackpool's three piers. It was 130.76 m (429 ft) long and wide enough for a bandstand, a few shops and ice-cream stall. It now features amusement rides of varying difficulty. At its end, partially illuminated in the shot, are the white knuckle Skycoaster and Skyscreamer bungee jumps. Night beach view looking south form the Central Sands.
