February 14, 2017 - MüNchen, Bayern, Germany - The Ver.di and police unions called for a warning strike today in Munich in a series of strikes in Germany. Included in the strike are workers of the TU and LMU universities, Deutsches Museum, courts, hospitals, Bayerische Staatsoper, Bayerisches Schauspiel, and others including highway workers. The demonstration start was at the Gewerkschaftshaus on Schwanthalerstrasse and ended at the famed Geschwister-Scholl-Platz at the LMU university. Police are demanding a raise of 6% and modifications to the training structures. The third round of discussions for the police union are this week (16th and 17th). 1, 100 strikers were at the beginning of the march, then joined by some 400 more at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz at the LM University.
