Located just minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) is one of the premier sports and recreation facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. MSAC has hosted more than 40 international events and welcomes 2.2M+ patrons each year. It features a world-class aquatic arena, state-of-the-art sports courts and stadium, a fully-equipped Fitness Centre and Wellness Zone, a variety of flexible and impressive function spaces and a selection of essential sports medicine and retail providers. Designed by Peddle Thorp Architects and built by Baulderstone Hornibrook, MSAC opened its doors in July 1997. The construction was jointly funded by the Victorian State Government and the City of Port Phillip, who wanted to establish a first class sports and aquatic centre to inspire and support the local community to a healthier lifestyle Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre offers internationally recognised state of the art aquatic facilities. Hosting both the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships, MSAC has a wide range of aquatic facilities to suit every persons needs. Ranging from professional aquatic usage to family recreational play the facilities at MSAC are built to impress.
