May 13, 2010 - Washington, District of Columbia USA - Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.)addresses a press conference on Thursday concerning legislation to raise the cap on oil company liability for spill damages from $75 million to $10 billion. The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and backed by Senators Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), was stalled when they failed to pass it by unanimous consent. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alasks) objected, therefore ending the effort. (Credit Image: © Pete Marovich/ZUMA Press)
