Taylor's reward for finding the person was a treat and a game of pull toy tug-of-war with Sonja. The SDF is a non-profit, non-governmental organization which strengthens disaster preparedness in the US by partnering rescued dogs with firefighter handlers to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters. The teams are provided at no cost to fire departments and other emergency agencies throughout the country. SDF teams have aided in dozens of disasters, including the 9/11 attack, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Haiti earthquake, Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, the tsunami in Japan, the Joplin tornado and many, many others.(Credit Image: © Brian Cahn/ZUMAPRESS.com)
