Lt. Col. Matt Ketchum and Command Sgt. Maj. Kirk W. Parsons, the command team for the 6th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment greeted Maj. Gen. Michael Shields, the U.S. Army Alaska commanding general and Command Sgt. Maj. Terry D. Gardner, the USARAK command sergeant major, on Jan. 20 at the 6-17th Cav. Regt. hangar on Camp Humphreys. Shields made the visit to see how the battalion and its Soldiers were doing and presented selected individuals with coins. The unit will be falling back under USARAK when they go back to Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Once a Talon, always a Talon 020615-A-TU438-001
