LOS ANGELES, CA – DECEMBER 14: Barry William Zito is a left-handed pitcher with the Oakland Athletics baseball team. Zito, who throws what is considered major league baseball’s best curveball, won the Cy Young Award for outstanding pitcher in the American League in 2002. Zito is also well known for his idiosyncrasies showing up to games in fuzzy slippers and dyed hair, practicing yoga and burning incense to relax. Zito has created the charity Strikeouts for Troops to which he donates $100 for every strikeout he throws to hospitals for soldiers wounded in military operations. Barry Zito poses for a portrait in Los Angeles, California on December 14, 2002.
