A sign used by Polish women’s groups and supporters gathered outside the Polish embassy for one of two protests which took place in London - the other took place outside the Irish embassy - to coincide with the March for Choice in Dublin against Ireland’s strict abortion law and Repeal the 8th protests around the world. The ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party in Poland is committed to a near-total ban on abortion, with terminations only permitted if the mother’s life is at risk and with the maximum jail term for practitioners increased from two years to five years.
