Held since 1913, the five day event is the most prestigious flower and garden show in the United Kingdom, and perhaps in the world, and attracts around 165, 000 visitors each year. Tickets for this year’s show sold out almost two weeks before opening. There are eight show gardens and 20 other themed gardens on display at this year’s show as well as over one hundred plant displays in the Great Pavilion. New plants are often launched at the show and the popularity of older varieties revived, it is, in effect, the garden design equivalent of a catwalk at a fashion show.
