Lewis's, Liverpool's only independent department store which opened in 1856 and closed down March/April 2010. Lewis's is an iconic landmark building situated in Ranelagh Street in Liverpool city centre which features a statue above the main entrance which is mentioned in songs - 'In My Liverpool Home'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis%27s The statue by Sir Jacob Epstein of a nude man is officially called the 'Liverpool Resurgent', but known locally as Dickie Lewis and is often used as a meeting place. it is immortalised in the 1962 anthem by Peter McGovern song 'In My Liverpool Home' by the following lines: "We speak with an accent exceedingly rare, Meet under a statue exceedingly bare"
