20.05.2008, Verdun, Meuse, France - Lavatory in Fort Douaumont. Heavily fortified Fort Douaumont was the main support point of the line of defence of Verdun on the Meuse Heights with 3000 soldiers. One of the biggest and bloodiest battles of the First World War and in history took place in 1916 in Verdun. The Hell of Verdun lasted several months and cost hundreds of thousands of lives without a significant change to the front line. 00A080520D298CAROEX.JPG
