Jerusalem, Israel. 8th April, 2016. Jews and Arabs march together in a procession carrying plaques bearing the names of the victims of the Deir Yassin Massacre, under tight police protection, to the few remaining structures of the 1948 Arab village invaded and destroyed. Commemoration organized by Zochrot (Remembering), seeking to raise public awareness of the Palestinian Nakba (Catastrophe). Deir Yassin, a pre-1948 Arab village adjacent to Jerusalem with a population of about 600, was invaded by paramilitaries from the Jewish Irgun and Lehi groups on April 9, 1948 and around 115 villagers were massacred.
