Inside view of the (new) Acropolis museum, part of the Parthenon gallery on the 3rd floor of the museum, Athens, Greece. You can see part of the exhibits from the pediment, the metope and the frieze of the west wall of the Parthenon. The colossal statues of the west pediment depict the dispute between Athena and Poseidon for the claim of the land of Attica. The west metope depicts the fight of Athenian youths against the Amazons, who threatened even the Acropolis (Amazonomachy). The frieze presents the Great Panathenaia, the greatest festival of the city in honor of the Goddess Athena.
