Hundreds of Lindy Hop enthusiasts converge on Harlem in New York on Monday, May 26, 2014 to celebrate World Lindy Hop Day and the centennial birthday of the late Frankie Manning with a dance party and a parade. Manning was the lead dancer and choreographer of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in the Savoy Ballroom in the 1930's. Manning introduced new routines and steps to the dance making it enormously popular. He passed away in 2009. Swing dancing has ebbed and flowed in popularity and is currently having a resurgence. (© Frances M. Roberts)
