Hundreds of holiday-makers watched the hunt of the Devon and Somerset Staghounds, which ended in the killing of a fully grown stag on the sun strewn banks of a stream at Horner, near Minehead, Somerset. For nearly three hours red-coated riders chased the stag across heather-covered moorland and through deep thickly wood coombs. Followers carry the stag by legs and antlers across the Rivers Horner, beside the tiny wooden strip foot bridge. August 1957 J5558-008
