Guards stand next to barricades at Legation Street, Peking, March, 1912. During the Peking riots, Marines were tasked with blocking off the western portions of Wall Street and Legation Street with sandbags looped with firing ports, this was supported by either a Gatling gun or a Colt machine gun.
