The Gibson's Department Store chain was based in the western United States in the 1960s through the 1990s. Most of their stores were based in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas . They were an early competitor of Sam Walton's chain Wal-Mart or Walmart as it is spelled today. This abandoned store is in Vernon, TX which is 50 miles west of Wichita Falls on Hwy. 287 and 180 miles southeast of Amarillo.
